Research and development in learning technologies

An ultra-small team. Shipping like one ten times larger.

StudioSpec designs, operates, and measures learning platforms used every day across Quebec, from elementary to postsecondary — French-first, with frontier AI models at the core of the craft.

Method

StudioSpec is the R&D team behind CONNEC-T, the technology platform powering TutorAide.ca since 2024. The recipe doesn’t change: a deliberately tiny team, frontier AI models at the centre of the workflow, and measurement as referee — every claim on this site is backed by a number or a shipped product. We also run several early-stage initiatives that remain non-public.

What we do differently

We operate what we build

Not an agency, not a paper lab: our software runs in production every day for 140+ families and 60+ tutors across 25+ Quebec cities.

AI at the core of the craft

Claude Code and Cursor at the centre of the workflow, not as accessories. The result is measurable: 440,000+ lines of production code, shipped by an ultra-small team.

Grounded in the Quebec school system

Pedagogical experiments and assessment instruments aligned to the Quebec Education Program — built French-first, from inside the system.

What we’re building

CONNEC-T

iOS Android Web

An operations management platform for TutorAide. 440,000+ lines of code. 75+ PostgreSQL tables.

Early-stage — not public

Work with us

The CONNEC-T platform is available under license, and the team takes on a limited number of engagements where the AI-first methodology makes a measurable difference. Exploring either? Write to us.
